| 1834 | A Pre-Famine Survey of KILCRUMRERAGH A unique Social Document of Rosemount 1834 by Jermiah Sheehan
& Fr. Jimmy Murray, O. Carm. According to this book The Commissioners of
Public Instruction wanted a breakdown of the results of the Official Census
of 1831 into the various religious affiliations which existed in Ireland at
this time. In 1834 they sent the official census returns to the original
enumerator with a request to fill in the information required. It would
appear that Fr. O'Loughlin (the parish priest of Tubber/ Rosemount) had been
the official enumerator for the area. This explains why these census are in
the Parochial house in Tubber.
