Cork West / Skibbereen Heritage Centre

 

Skibbereen Heritage Centre has RC church records for the greater West Cork area from c.1817-1911 and provides a genealogy service by appointment https://skibbheritage.com/genealogy/

 

Please note – this service is not covered by your RootsIreland subscription.

 

Roman Catholic parish records from the Cork and Ross Diocese are available online for free at irishgenealogy.ie. A list of sources can be found here:  churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/parishes.jsp

 

Records for 12 graveyards, 14 burial registers, loan funds, estate records, school records, tenant records and tithe applotments are searchable online at their website : skibbheritage.com/genealogy/

 

This centre in West Cork has Roman Catholic Church parish records of baptisms and marriages for:
  • Skibbereen
  • Rath and The Islands
  • Drinagh
  • Drimoleague
  • Caheragh
  • SchullGoleen

The 1901 census and Griffith’s Valuation are also computerised but not online and to search these you will need to contact the centre.
